What is the wear rating for Riche Flooring™ laminate product?

All laminate flooring products from Riche Flooring™ have an AC3 rating, which is suitable for all residential applications in addition to light commercial applications such as hotel rooms and small offices.

Can I install a hardwood floor in a full bathroom?

Installing a wood floor in a full bathroom is not recommended due the high moisture associated with these areas which can increase the potential for problems to develop.

Can Riche's hardwood floor be damp-mopped?

The best way to maintain your floor is to sweep, dust mop and/or vacuum the floors regularly. Riche's hardwood floors also clean easily with a Swiffer or similar type dry mop. Excessive moisture will cause damage. Standing water can dull the finish, damage the wood, and will void the warranties. If water spills on a wood floor, immediately wipe it up with a clean cloth.

What humidity levels should I keep for my wood floor?

Maintain humidity levels between 40 and 50%, for your own health as well as for the protection of your floor and wooden furniture. Use a hygrometer to check moisture content in the air to ensure that relative humidity is within the recommended range.

Can we install Riche's hardwood flooring in the basement?

No. It is highly recommended that you do not install hardwood flooring below grade. However, it is possible to install laminate floors in these situations.

When ordering hardwood flooring how much extra should I order to allow for waste?

Generally, a 7% to 10% for waste and cuts should be added depending on the size of the board and the layout of the area.

Can cleaning products for vinyl or tile floors be used on hardwood floors as well?

No. Never use sheet vinyl or tile floor care products on wood floors. And never use self-polishing acrylic waxes on hardwood floors. These waxes cause wood to become slippery and dull. In this case, the floor must be sanded and refinished.

Does wood flooring promote a healthy indoor environment?

Yes. Bacteria, dust and dirt do not embed themselves in wood flooring. Simple regular maintenance—such as dustmopping, sweeping, or vacuuming—keeps wood floors dust-free.

How do I clean my laminate flooring?

Riche’s laminate flooring requires very low maintenance. Simply dust mop or vacuum with a soft brush or wood floor accessory to keep your laminate floor clean from dust, dirt or grit. Damp (near dry) mopping generally does not cause damage to the laminate flooring panels, but do not use excessive water. Dry the floor thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth.
